March Stamp of the Month - Potential

Using this stamp set with the fleur de lis paper from the Victory paper pack makes a perfect match! I stamped the fleur de lis stamp with black ink on colonial white cardstock, punched it out and mounted it over a piece of black ribbon. The sentiment is also stamped in black. The card is finished with mini pearl gems from the licorice opaques. With a $50 purchase from the Spring/Summer catalog the price of the stamp set is just $5! Available 3/1/12 - 3/31/12.
Supplies used:
S1203  Potential - March Stamp of the Month
X7150C Victory Paper Pack
Z1335  Licorice Opaques Adhesive Gems

Studio J- Features & Tips

As I am finishing up this layout I wanted to stop and post some Studio J tips and features to share with you. What you see here is a picture of my computer screen with a Studio J 2 page layout in progress using the new Lucy papers. Some Studio J features I want to point out are:
Being able to enlarge the view up to 400% so you can clearly see all the tiny details, the button for this is at the top left of the screen.
Stickers can be layered on top of one another, the "Love this Smile" is layered on top of the tag.
You can also journal on a sticker! The tag that says Rabbit Hill Ranch was made by adding a text box and dragging it inside the tag. TIP: watch for little yellow triangle warning pop ups as you work with text, if the warning pops up your text will not all be visible when your layout is printed so just reduce the size of the font.
All of the photo tags on the layout on the right are text boxes I added. TIP: change the color of the text box and font to compliment your layout.
At the bottom of the screen you can see the 5 layout icons. TIP: You can delete any layout you decide you don't like, but you have to use the delete button on the small icon at the bottom of the screen.
Studio J really is a lot of fun to use & your layouts will turn out great! The price of the 5 pack includes your 10 layouts (5 - 2 pg layouts),  page protectors so they are ready to add to your album, and the shipping!

Valentine project with CTMH Cricut Art Philosophy

This is such a fun valentine to make and it's so easy with the CTMH Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge. I cut the lacy heart shape doily using Grey Wool CS and the Tag 5 key with the font layer setting at 3". The pretty little box has one Ghirardelli chocolate square inside. To make the box for the chocolate I used the NEW Lucy (X7149B) papers and the circle 1 key with the font layer setting at 4.75". Tip: Mini glue dots are perfect on the box tabs to hold it together. The band for the box is a strip of Cotton Candy CS lightly sanded on the edges for texture and wrapped with the NEW Baker's Twine (Z1701). The embellishment is a heart punched from the Lucy paper and a stamped image from the NEW Enjoy stamp set (C1496).

Thoughtful Tidings - Feb SOM & Florentine papers

I've use the Stamp of the Month with the beautiful Florentine papers to make a Birthday card but this easily could have been a Valentine or a Just Because card. To make the card cut 2 strips from the stripe paper and use the scallop punch. Then adhere these to the front of your card and cut the heart print stripe to layer on top. The heart is stamped on Vanilla Cream CS with Creme Brulee, cut out and mounted with foam tape on the Goldrush heart print paper that was sponged lightly on the edges with Cocoa ink. The lacy print of the papers are so pretty I just used a little bit of satin edge ribbon and some pearls on the scallops. The photo below shows the stripe paper in this pack.
