March Sampler

For my March sampler I've gone with the stained glass look created from the CTMH Cricut Artbooking cartridge. You'll find this overlay cut on the Walking in Winter Key.
The Brushed papers & complements and the March SOM gave the perfect finishing touches. The sampler can be framed as is or you could add photos.
The CTMH Designed Decor Shadow Box wooden frame is perfect for displaying your samplers.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge 96

I think one of the biggest card making challenges I have every year is the card for my dad's birthday. I really want each card to be unique and not repeat the colors or stamps I've used before. So this year I checked out the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog and found the perfect inspiration!
The border on my card was created with the new CTMH Triangle Border Punch and a strip of Chocolate Woodgrain Washi Tape.

There is still time for you to enter the challenge this week, here is the sketch and a link to their blog.

Happy Birthday Nico!

For Nico's 8th birthday I choose a PML card from the Later Sk8r pack and used the Doodled Designs Flair stamp set & the Have a Happy Day stamp set with the Arrows washi tape to complete the card front.
The PML card at the bottom left corner of my photo is what the card looked like before  I added the stamping.

Happy Valentine's Day

St. Valentine sculpture, Photo by Christian Pichler* edited with PicMonkey Rapture effect

February 14th was declared Valentine’s Day at the end of the fifth century to honor a martyred priest, but what’s the connection between a celibate clergyman and romance? Some say it’s because the priest, Valentine, defended the cause of love by performing marriage rites for young soldiers who were forbidden to marry by Roman law. Some say the date for celebrating St. Valentine was chosen in order to “Christianize” a pagan fertility holiday.

Since the middles ages, however, Valentine’s Day has been unequivocally connected to the idea of romantic love. After taking hold in Europe, the holiday as we know it expanded to the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Australia. Now, one billion Valentine’s Day cards are sent each year, which makes it the second-most card-sendingest holiday on the calendar!

Hopscotch Sampler

This sampler uses the Hopscotch papers, Project Life cards, buttons and the February Stamp of the Month A Happy Hello. I've also used some of the Fundamentals glossy embossed papers. All of the shapes were cut with the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge. Sanding the edges of the butterfly and heart shapes gives them a little more dimension so they pop a little. The PLM cards have all been embellished with stamping, sparkles and cut shapes and buttons.
The Flax Twine is a thick 2 ply soft cotton twine that can easily be separated for applications that might be better with a thinner twine.
